Hello and welcome to my personal website. Thanks for visiting and I hope you read on a little.
So who am I and what do I do?
Until 2008 I had worked for advertising agencies and ideas companies throughout my career.
First in the UK as a graduate trainee and account manager at O&M and 3 years later at GGT as an account director and the client service director, during my time at GGT I was selected as one of Campaign magazine’s “Faces to Watch” and loved the experience of developing and selling iconic campaigns to clients such as Cadbury, Mazda and Taunton Cider.
After 8 years working in London I got a call out of the blue from a headhunter and subsequently met the Turkish owners of a successful domestic agency in Istanbul and accepted their offer to become CEO of Guzel Sanatlar in Istanbul where I spent 5 amazing years learning about Turkish business and advertising as well as helping the agency become more international and strategically and creatively focused.
Soon after my arrival the agency signed up as the Turkish associate of the Bates Worldwide network which allowed me to meet and work with the CEOs of Bates agencies across Europe. After my time in Istanbul I was offered the chance to move back to London as the European New Business Director for Bates Europe and subsequently took on the role of CEO of Bates Pan Gulf in Dubai running both the local agency Bates PanGulf and the Middle East region for Bates.
In 2002 I returned to the UK as EMEA Marketing Director for Saatchi & Saatchi responsible for winning new business for the network as well as managing the network’s 20 EMEA Associate Agencies across the region, a role I absolutely loved as it gave me the chance to help mentor local CEOs as well as run training courses for their employees.
In 2008 I was approached by the EACA (European Association of Communication Agencies) to start-up the EACA International School of Advertising and Communications whose aim is to help raise the professional standards of our industry across Europe – as someone who has always had a desire to teach this is a new venture I am absolutely passionate about.
During 2009 & 2010 I set up the School, recruited our faculty of brilliant trainers (all ex-advertising practitioners) and we ran a series of Training Courses & Workshops across Europe. One of our most popular workshops has been to help Agency CEO’s manage their agencies better through the Recession and develop their New Business Skills.
For more information about the School please visit our website http://eacaschool.wordpress.com
After the success of our 2010 EACA International Summer School in Paris we ran an even more exciting Summer School in Barcelona in July 2011 for udergraduates, post grads and youg advertising executives. During the week our participants had the chance to:
- Work and share ideas with students from other countries and cultures
- Be part of a team working on a real client brief
- Make a new business pitch on a live brief to Henkel Europe
- Cover the key advertising communications disciplines
- Practice spoken and written English
- Have direct contact with leading practitioners in the communications industry
- Receive an EACA International School Certificate
We split the participants into two groups:
Group 1: students in 1st & 2nd years

I am also a Board member of ed-com (European Foundation for Commercial Communications Education) a not-for-profit foundation that brings together academics & students from the Marketing Communications Faculties of Universities across Europe with practitioners in the communications industry. We strive to improve communication and relationships between the parties and ultimately to help the best students make their way into the communications industry. http://www.eacaeducation.eu/
